N.C. Industrial Commission Latest News & Information
The North Carolina Industrial Commission has announced its policies regarding the disposition of matters under its jurisdiction during the COVID-19 State of Emergency in North Carolina and in compliance with today’s Order of Chief Justice Beasley. In summary, it appears that all hearings before Deputy Commissioners that are currently scheduled for March or April 2020 will be continued except for those matters that are required by statute to be heard within 30 days (e.g. hearings on medical motions) subject to certain exceptions. All full Commission hearings will be conducted by telephone conference call. Since the Executive Secretary’s office already conducts informal hearings by telephone, it appears that it will be “business as usual” before the Executive Secretary’s office.
